Giving the last chorus another option
A final chorus can change without automatically getting louder.
If every chorus sounds the same, look at what the band changes before adding another crash. The last chorus may gain backing vocals, lose an instrument, or follow a quiet breakdown. Your part can respond to that change.
As a rehearsal experiment, play an early chorus on closed hi-hat and a later one on ride, keeping the kick and snare pattern the same. Record both. Listen for whether the ride suits the new texture and whether it covers anything you want to hear.
You could also keep the cymbal part unchanged and add one agreed accent with the band. Saving a crash for the last chorus is one possible arrangement, not a requirement. If the song needs its strongest entrance earlier, put it there. Mark the chosen parts on the chart so you can repeat them.
